BMW 1 Series Versus RS3 in Drag Race

The BMW 1 Series isn't just about luxury, though at a glance, it could have us fooled. With its sleek exterior and bold demeanor, it's clear that the 1 Series is out to make a lasting impression, but BMW also knows that drivers in the greater Omaha area and beyond are interested in more than just looks. Rather, they know that drivers want performance to back those looks up, which is some that we here at Markel BMW are going to take a minute to share with you today.

Recently, the BMW 1 Series was put up against the competition's RS3 in a drag race arranged by Fifth Gear. While we would like to make the details of this race seem as dramatic as possible, we should really just say that the outcomes wasn't even close. The BMW 1 Series outperformed the RS3 with no trouble, beating it by almost a full three seconds.

Some were surprised by this, especially considering the fact that the RS3 packs five more horsepower under the hood, but we never had a doubt. We say this because the RS3 distributes power to all four wheels, while the BMW 1 Series delivers all 335 horsepower to the rear wheels, resulting in incredible acceleration and speed.

After the race, Fifth Gear asked BMW 1 Series driver, Tiff Needell, which vehicle he'd choose when buying his next vehice. Without a doubt, he said he'd go with the 1 Series, as its ability to outperform the competition speaks volumes to the dedication of every BMW employee.

The BMW 1 Series completed the single-lap race-off almost three full seconds faster than the RS3. Following the competition, Fifth Gear asked BMW 1 Series driver, Tiff Needell, which car he would choose. Like the victory, his choice was clear. The BMW 1 Series all the way!
