Is the BMW M5 Like Music to Your Ears?

While some may enjoy blasting their favorite tunes while driving, others enjoy the incredible roar of their engine, especially those who are behind the wheel of a performance-driven vehicle like the all new BMW M5. In its 2012 model year, the BMW M5 packs an incredible 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine under the hood that works to crank out 560 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. of torque.

Who wouldn't love to hear the sound of 560 ponies hard at work? In know that the answer is no one, BMW has been working to perfect a fun, innovative technology to bring the one-of-a-kind sound of the BMW M5 to an adrenaline-pumping audio format to be played inside the car, enhancing the driving experience. It's something that everyone here at Markel BMW is quite excited for, and as such, we thought we'd take a minute to discuss how our favorite Bavarian automaker has gone about making it happen.

To make this a reality, BMW has opted to connect the BMW M5 super sport sedan's digital signal processor into the car's engine management system. Through this integration, the audio system is able to produce the sound that the twin-turbocharged V8 makes under the hood, allowing the driver to feel more of the adrenaline behind the wheel!

While this represents the first offering of its kind, we should note that the audio system in the BMW M5 can be used to play music as well. Of course, no matter how you rock out behind the wheel, you can always take any new BMW that has caught your eye for a test drive today by either dialing (800) 593-6060 or by submitting a contact form online.
